Pac-man Date Idea

Pac-man themed date night.

I know it's early, but my Husband was born in November 1980 which makes him the big 3-0 this November! I am going to plan a few date nights centered around the 80's theme up until his birthday where I am already planning his 80's themed party (shhhh....he doesn't know yet!)
This Saturday (May 22) 30 years ago was the release of Pac-man.  I thought this would be a great time to kick-off the 80's themed dates I am going to plan.

Recreate Your First Date

Recreate your first date!

My husband and I are getting ready to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. I wanted to create a date that had a little history to it. So...I decided to recreate our VERY FIRST DATE. Let me paint the picture of our first date....

We were both 16 and in high school.

1.My husband picked me up and we went to a Mexican restaurant.

2. After dinner, we headed to the 1996 hit movie, Romeo and Juliet.

3. After the movie, he dropped me off at my house. He returned...

The Dessert-Off Date

Dessert-off Date night

One of our readers, Alicia, recently sent us this email:

My name is Alicia Voigts.  I ran across your blog link on LDS Chatter and I am in LOVE.  Such a GREAT blog... I wanted to share an idea that 3 of my girlfriends did with all 3 of our husbands.  We called it the "Dessert-Off" ...kinda like a "Bake-Off"... I guess you could say.  We girls sat around and chatted while the men went to the store to buy the items.

When they returned, they each...

LOVE NOVEL

(photo courtesy of Book By You)
I am NOT one to read those "sappy" love novels....BUT I absolutely LOVE to read....so I about died when I stumbled across this idea.  There is a website/company called "Book By You" (...they were featured on The View - BTW)...that helps you personalize your OWN "love novel!"  You provide the names, places, features (eye color, etc.) and you can even include your dog or cat!  Seriously???

It's actually...

Get Your Laugh On!

Get your laugh on comedy date night!

Here's a little background on this date: For April Fools Day this year, my husband thought it would be HILARIOUS to make me french toast with a generous layer of garlic salt on top. (Ugh!) I'm ashamed to say that I was less than laughing after I ran to the sink to spit it out and got a face full of water when I flipped on the faucet - he had rigged it to come out of the sprayer!

*sigh*Somebody (ME) needed to lighten up. It was a joke and my hubby just wanted...

Love Notes Pad

DIY Printable Love Notes Pad

I sometimes have a hard time remembering to think about my husband and his needs because I am so caught up with taking care of my daughter and myself, that I often times forget to take care of my husband. :/  I am trying to change this and am now constantly thinking about ways I can show my love to my husband.

My husband's 'Love Language' is words of affirmation and I thought a good way to show him how much I love him, would be to leave him little random...

Dating while in Grad School

How to date your spouse while their are in grad school.

One of the Diva's asked me to share some tips about how my husband and I spend time together while he is in podiatry school. The first thing that came to mind was Make friends with the other wives. Yes, a lot of my time is spent with my little guy or other wives of students, but Justin and I try to make our marriage and our family our number one priority. I'll share a few of our ideas, and these aren't limited to medical school. If your husband is in any grad school...
