Game Night for Two!

Ticket to Ride: Games for two!

My husband and I love to play games. We used to have game nights more frequently with family and friends, but life got busy with school and having a child. Game nights were hard to come by. BUT for the past little while now, my husband and I have found a few games that are really fun and can be played with just TWO players! This is a great solution for our busy lives because we can pull them out and play together when we suddenly realize we have some down time.

I...

Surprise Date

A Surprise Date weekend away that your spouse will love!

It all started with an invitation to my husband for him to run away with me the following night.  I wrote him an extra special note in a card explaining many things that I felt made him special.  I wrote him a personal note about all the things that he does for me and our family.  I then ended the note inviting him on a Surprise Date with me tomorrow.  I planned a few activities that would make him feel like this was an extra special typical date before we got to...

Love Story: Erika and Justin

Love story from Erika and Justin

I knew I was in love the minute I met my husband, Justin. It was the first day of High School, and he had just walked into my math class. I can still remember what he was wearing - Lucky jeans, K-Swiss shoes, a navy blue shirt, and he had cute spiky hair (gotta love 1999!). Every girl in the sophomore class was drooling over this kid who was the Class President. He was nice to everyone and I was totally smitten.

I asked him to Sweethearts Ball right after I turned...

The Sock Date

The "Sock" Date

We always love hearing about the dates the MEN come up with!  One of our readers, Mindy, shared one in which her husband used one of her favorite things and turned it into a very creative date.  Here she is:

Just wanted to share a fun date my husband took me on...he thought it up all by himself!

I LOVE funky socks.  I've got all colors, styles, lengths, fabrics and more.  On Thursday, my husband Mike invited me to a date that would 'Knock My Socks Off.'...

Camp Out!

Campout for two: a darling at home date night idea!

Every time I hear the two words Camp Out, I automatically think of the movie "The Sandlot". (We've always loved that movie.) Hopefully you have all seen it and now know where my initial inspiration came from.

My hubby and I love camping...scratch that. We realized that we were IN LOVE while camping. It's true. We took a trip up to Hoback Junction, WY with my parents and my little brother for a weekend camp out. I have always looked back on that trip...

All The Single Ladies…

All the single ladies: advice on dating and marriage.

I recently did a guest post on a CUTE blog called, Exposing the Drapes to My 20's.  Jessica is SUCH a doll!!  When she asked us to do something for the "single ladies"....we loved the idea!  Heck, we were ALL single at one point...and some of us were QUITE the playas (sorry....can't tell ya who...) and some of us sure dated the players!!  :)   I then realized that we probably have some *single* readers who would ALSO love this advice....so I am "reposting"...

Father’s Day Card Tutorial

A Father's Day card tutorial he's going to love.

We live in a separate state than our parents so Father's Day cards are the best bet for us!  I always have tons of scrapbook paper on hand for times when I need to make a quick card for birthdays or special events, etc...  Here is a tutorial for a quick and easy Father's/Grandpa's Day card!

Cardstock for the actual card folded in half longways.
Cut decorative scrap paper into 6 squares - all the same size.

Use a glue stick to attach the 6 squares to...

Father’s Day

Print off this Father's Day gift certificate for the man in your life!

My idea for Father's Day this year was to make my husband a homemade "Gift Certificate" for a weekend away. I have always enjoyed my weekends away with my girlfriends so I figure that my husband wouldn't mind a little time away himself. I made up a "Gift Certificate" in Word and printed it out on cute paper. Then I'll give it to him on Father's Day with his favorite treat (beef jerkey). My intention is for my husband to pick a weekend this summer and either...
