Always Say Yes

Remember how in the beginning of your relationship, you would do anything for the other person?
My husband and I noticed that after awhile, couples started fighting over "who's turn it was"... to take out the trash, change the baby's diaper, do the dishes, etc. We made a deal to stop doing that! We decided that we would always say, "Yes," to each other when asked for help or support.

Now we are not perfect, and have to restart the habit now and then, but we...

The Anatomy of an

Imagine the following scenario:
You are a one woman wonder that has cleaned the house, folded laundry, and managed to whip up a healthy dinner for your family, all the while taking care of your children ages 3, 5, and 8.  After dinner, your husband sits down to unwind by watching the latest Sports Center.  You are absolutely exhausted and running through a mental list of what still needs to get done that night: a sink full of dirty dishes, walks for the...

Everyone has one of these growing in their backyard right???

And just like my tree, I am sure yours ONLY grows $20, $50, and $100 bills right??
{Don't we ALL wish!}
Sometimes it feels like that would be the answer to a lot of our problems. If we only had the money. Studies show that financial stress is one of the leading reasons for divorce. Couples avoid talking about money because they don't want to upset the other person, face the current financial situation...

Gratitude

Several years ago, I was watching an episode of Oprah (BTW...I really miss her). The entire episode was on having gratitude in our daily lives. Oprah talked about keeping a regular journal solely about "being grateful."  I immediately tried this idea and soon found that I LOVED it. Each week (about 2- 3 times), I would take 5 minutes and quickly jot down ten things I was thankful for. At first, I had to stop and really think. However, after doing this for a few weeks...

Can ‘O’ Dates

Can O' Dates - a create wedding gift!

Sugardoodle recently highlighted this idea on her Facebook Fan Page...which I thought was PERFECT for our blog!  My Creative Stirrings came up with THIS fun idea:

A "Can 'O Dates"!!
She uses this as a wedding present for newlyweds & fills it with 36 date ideas.  She also adds in "extras" that goes along with the dates.  How fun would this be to do with your spouse?  This would be great for the date nights that creep up on you really fast OR when you...
