The Napoleon Dynamite Date

A Flippin’ Sweet Party!

I love using the Dating Divas to show my hubby how much I love him, and I love being a guest blogger!

This party is a tribute to my home town, PRESTON, Idaho!  Not only did Napoleon Dynamite put us on the map, but it also makes a great theme for a party!

First we had to have a great invitation. My awful handwriting finally came in handy and my talented husband used his great artistic skills and drew an awesome Liger “a mix between a lion and a tiger with mystical powers.”

I included the invite below for you.

We started out by throwing our STEAKS on the grill (chicken for the sissies) and had some TATER TOTS as a side dish.  {“Napoleon, give me your tots!“} Then washed that all down with 1% milk.

Once our bellies were full, we sat down to practice our Napoleon Drawing Skills. Using a 30-second timer, we split into two teams and played pictionary using a word list I compiled from the movie.

I’ve included the words below.

(The top word is easier and the bottom word is meant to be harder.)

Then we sat around and watched the Napoleon Dyamite Animated TV Show. The shows are so funny, and completely true!

While we were watching and laughing we were also keeping our hands busy with some Boon Doggle. {“Pedro offers you his protection.“}

And no one can leave one of my parties without pictures! Deb’s Portraits was one of my favorite parts! {“Now imagine you’re weightless, in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by tiny little sea horses.”}

Some other Napoleon Dynamite party ideas are…

  • Steak Throwing Contest
  • Play Football
  • Bike and RollerBlade Race
  • Play Tether Ball
  • Have a Dancing Contest
  • OR “Make your own dang Quesadilla’s” instead of Steak

Oh and don’t forget your party favor… Chapstick! {“But my lips hurt real BAD!”}

So go have some fun and laughs… have your own flipping sweet Napoleon Dynamite party, LUCKY!

  1. Soooo! I’m in my car on a 4hr drive to Florida, trying to come up with fun ideas for dates…. I’ve been wanting to watch Napoleon Dynamite again, so I thought that could be a good date… Then I started thinking, what if I go all out and I have games and food that apply to the movie! I search online and ofcourse, it brings me ‘back’ to the dating divas! I just LOVE that you guy already came up with this!! I am sooo doing this. I think I’m going to turn it into two dates, and do it with another couple that loves this movie. we can watch the movie together one week and the next we do the games 🙂

  2. LOL! I used to HATE this movie… until I married my husband and watched it with him. I have lost count of how many times we’ve seen it, but for whatever reason when he laughs, I am rolling on the floor laughing too. Great movie, great date! And I only live about 40 minutes from Preston, I could actually visit where “Napoleon Dynamite” lives! Too funny!

    1. I didn’t like it at first! but it grows on you… and I think the cartoon is way better. Anyway, I’m from Preston so if you go down to see napoleon’s, you should see if I’m in town 😉 I could show you the chicken farm

  3. Holy Cow! This is Hilarious! I love Napoleon! Thanks for the great ideas…I’m about due to throw another party. LUCKY!
