Christmas Gift Roundup

by

Guess what?! Today is DECEMBER 1st! 24 Days until Christmas….which is really not that much time at all. Do you have your shopping done? Me…not so much, but I’m working on it. {We are going to visit family out of state in about 2 weeks, so I’ll HAVE to be done by then.} So…I’ve been racking my brain and scouring Pinterest for the perfect gift for the hubs. I have found FIVE of the BEST DIY gifts to give your spouse. They are all totally doable in 24 days, inexpensive, and awesome. Check them out.

Wedding Invitation Ornament

Traditions are an important part of the holiday season, and I know many people have the tradition of exchanging ornaments every year. What if you gave your spouse an ornament reminiscent of your wedding? From Glitter to Gumdrops shows you how to easily diy! What a fun way to remember each other every Christmas (and not a bad way to use up all those extra invitations you have stowed in a box somewhere!)

“Sock” it to Him

This next gift is my FAVORITE! (I secretly wish my husband would give it to me!) Darling Doodles created a “Sock” it to Him basket with socks, slippers, lotion, foot scrub (any foot thing you want to include) and then the best part – a coupon for a free foot massage from YOU! She has the gift tag and coupon for you to include. All you have to do is gather the supplies. This is thoughtful and practical (new socks!) and I’m sure most people would love it. Since my husband is a podiatrist, this one is definitely on the “Must Do” list for me.

To Gift Peace of Mind

The most inexpensive gift of all – Peace of Mind! Do you have a list of “To Do’s” for your hubby that he is dreading or just doesn’t have time to do? Bryn from Paperfinger did this for her hubby and I think any spouse would appreciate this.

She made a list of all the little to do’s, house annoyances, tasks and errands that pile up and nag him every time they come to mind. She then made a list of all of them – and did them! Thereby giving him – Peace of Mind. Then she wrote them all down on separate sheets of paper (with super cute little pictures) and put them in a paper box.

If money is tight, this could be the perfect gift to give. One year, a friend of mine exchanged service gifts with her spouse. Cleaning, organizing, and doing things around the house for each other. So thoughtful, productive, and cost efficient!

Everything in a Jar

I love the idea of a customizable jar filled with everything you need. The Gunny Sack offers several ideas of different jars (Energy in a Jar, Refreshment, Pampering, Tide Me Over, First Aid, S’Mores, Relaxation, Sewing) and has step-by-step instructions and photos of how to put them together. She gives you all the ideas of what to put in AND offers the printable tags for FREE! Blank customizable ones are included in case you come up with your own idea too. I think this would be a great stocking stuffer as well!

Custom Art from Your Own Fingertips

Do you have a computer, fingers, and $6? Random combination, BUT this is an easy and super inexpensive gift you can give that is totally unique. ManMade created this for his wife (see guys…you can be ‘crafty’) and it is awesome. What a fun piece of artwork that is original and meaningful. All you have to do is take fingerprints, upload it to graphic software (like¬†Photoshop¬†or the FREEware alternative he suggests), add some text, print and frame!

So are you feeling inspired and ready to get one more gift crossed off your list? I love thoughtful gifts like these because they’ll know you really put some thought and effort into the gift. Do you have any other ideas of easy diy gifts for your spouse?
