Big Bite Passport

We have soo many ideas on our site and yet one of the most popular date nights for most couples is going out to eat. Today I’m not breaking from that mold.  If the two of you are restaurant connoisseurs, this Big Bite Passport is for you!

I found this darling idea on Pinterest by The Spotted Fox, I love Pinterest!!! (Sadly, the website seems to be removed or I would send you on over to take a peek.) I loved the idea and decided, right then and there, that I needed to make one myself. With the help of Sameeha at The Inked Leaf Designs we came up with this Big Bite Passport, isn’t it lovely?! If you haven’t checked out The Inked Leaf Designs yet, you are missing out and you need to head on over and see all the adorable designs she’s got! One warning, you will fall in love with her.

Big Bite Idea

It’s time to get a little adventurous! The idea is that the two of you will spend an entire year trying out NEW, local, and yummy restaurants. You know that old and tired discussion, “Where are we going tonight?”, well it’s time you say goodbye to it!

To help you keep track of your favorite and least favorite spots, there is a rating system, 1 fork, 2 forks, and 3 forks. To keep track, simply glue one of the forks to the page on the designated spot, then you’re on to the next restaurant.

So much fun to be had, right?!

Making your book is easy as pie and can be done in 4 quick steps.

1. Grab the Big Bite Printable. Print on White Card Stock

2. Cut out the pages and the rating system forks. Place your forks in a ziplock baggie somewhere you won’t forget along with a glue stick, you’ll need them after each dinner date.

3. Tie your book together, punch and slide a pretty ribbon through. Take a peek at the photo below this step. The front page says “Big Bite Passport”, the second page says “Travel the Town One Bite At A Time”, and the last page says “Keep Calm and Bite On” and faces away from all the pages (Kinda like a book end. When you turn your the book over you should be able to see “Keep Calm and Bite On”)

4. On date night at your favorite restaurant fill out the pages with NEW restaurants you want to try and add their locations. If the two of you are running low on ideas, take a peek at Yelp or Urban Spoon for good recommendations in your area.

If you happen to live in UT or AZ here are some of my favorites ever…The Fry Bread House {AZ}, Tortilla Bar {UT}, Spencers For Steaks and Chops {UT}, The Original Pancake House {UT} and {AZ}, Arribas {AZ}, Black Sheep Cafe and I’ve heard so much good stuff about Republica Empanada {AZ}, they will be opening soon, and it’s on our to do list! Check these places out, you will love them!

Still need some recommendations? We can all help each other by commenting on this post with a list of your favorite restaurants and where you live!

And voila your book is complete!

While you are out on the town you might want to step up your game a little and try out Tourist In Your Home Town, Mall Dare, and The Bookstore Date.

It’s time to get adventurous!!! Ready, set, and go… tour and taste the town one bite at a time!

PS. What are your favorite places to stop in for a bite??? Don’t forget to share them with us in the comments below!

A gold mine for local restaurants exists in Salt Lake City right across from Pioneer Park on 300 South. An old love of mine, Tony Caputo’s, is an authentic Italian deli (and market). Right next to it is a french pastry shop…Mmm. Right in front of those two are Ekamai (best hole in the wall Thai food ever!) and Bruges Belgian waffles. All of them are SOO good.

My husband and I have been talking about making a food passport of sorts for awhile, so this is perfect! Now we can have a cute one, and maybe it will motivate us to start trying some of those restaurants. :) THANKS!

    In AZ!

For authentic Mexican food: La Pinata in Phoenix on 19th Ave and Mulberry Dr (just South of Thomas).
    Authentic pizza: Grimaldi’s (several locations).

    Some others:
    Mellow Mushroom
    PF Chang’s
    Jimmy and Joe’s
    Old Spaghetti’s Company
    Blue Fin
    Pizzeria Bianco

    We love food. :)

What a fun idea to “travel the town” checking out new and exciting restaurants! I can’t tell you how many times my husband and I have run through the dialogue you mentioned of, “Where do you want to eat?” followed by “I don’t know, what do you want?” This cute dating idea is the perfect solution!
