Blast from the Past

My husband really is spontaneous and creative. He told me this past week that he wanted to be planning more exciting dates for us to go on since I am usually the planner. So he came up with a 1950’s Blast From The Past!! History: I am sooooo into rollerblading {although not so good at roller skating}… AND did you know that you can burn up to 1,000 calories an hour rollerblading?? Maybe that is why I love it!! It is such great exercise, too! Here in Utah we have a few places that have perfect paved trails {Jordan River Parkway & The Provo River Parkway} Both parallel to rivers with stunning views! Ah! I want to go again… :)

Rollerblades and/or skates… A MUST! If you don’t have any… buy them used! No need to spend a ton. Craiglist and KSL are hot places for them. If you go to a skating rink, you can rent them and usually the skates are FREE!! Love that! It is pretty much guaranteed that after this great workout, you are going to be starving! So we created a…

…Drive in!! Here was the fabulous menu! Only the best of foods my hubby loves, of course. We also planned on delivering them to our friends on our skates at the drive-in, but that got scary since some of us can be uncoordinated! LOL

Cookie sheets work wonders as serving trays… and don’t forget your milk shakes, bottled coke and yummy old fashioned movie snacks!! Here is a favorite… Watermelon Candy Sticks if you need some direction for a yummy mouth watering treat!

The best part of this WHOLE date was of course the drive-in-movie!! I have never been to one myself… nor have I ever seen… this is embarrassing… BACK TO THE FUTURE! I know I know, I am soooo behind. So we used a projector to watch it on the garage… in our cars!

I hear drive in’s are very well know for their very private seats… {wink wink} so I will admit it, there was some smooching going on!

And there you have it, my husbands incredibly creative night out on the town with awesome company. Also, HERE is the menu if you want to use it. :)

What an awesome idea! Just curious how you did the sound so they could hear it in the cars?

    • Wendy Wendy says:

!Katie-So we have great computer speakers… the sound was awesome… but for those who dont, the cords actually reached the windows and we could have put the speaker itself right on the dash. We tried it and it was way to loud for us… so we went with windows down… I hope it works for you!!! :)

    Wendy,
I really want to use your menu printable for a big drive in party I’m having in 2 days! Can you change it, so that I’m allowed to edit it? Since, we’ll have a slightly different menu. Thanks so much!!!!

    • Wendy wendy says:

Mel, you are more than welcome to use that. If you have photoshop it is easy to adjust without it being changed. With that said, I dont have the word copy anymore, so I hope you have a way around that. Super fun! Good luck!

    Wendy,
Can you click into the menu link on here, and give permission for editing?
