Family Fun: Candid Photoshoot

by

A photo says a thousand words and freezes time for just one moment.
When was the last time you had family pictures taken?  At my house it has become a yearly tradition.  Every Fall we capture very special, extremely candid moments.  Some of my favorite photos end up being the ones we weren’t even posing for!  How fun would it be to take this idea one step further by creating a family video. That is just what this inspirational blog did (love this)!

A few weeks ago Kristen had some fun doing her family photo shoot.  To be completely honest, her hubby wasn’t terribly excited about the venture. So to get him on board she let him get behind the camera and do some of the picture taking. That’s all it took to get him into it!  Here is a peek at that as well as some tips to get you started.

All you need to do is:
-Charge up the battery in your camera so it’s good and ready.
-Bring a tripod or something sturdy to set up your camera.
-Figure out outfits!  Do you want to coordinate them or have them all different?
-Choose the perfect location to do the job.
Ready, Set, Action…..

Switch it up by being the photographer for a little bit……

Even let your husband try his hand at it…..

There you have it…..Priceless Memories captured! So easy, so inexpensive, and soo do-able!  Be creative with this idea. Why not take pictures of jumping on a trampoline or having a water fight!?! The sky’s the limit!!
When you’re all said and done, pick out your favorite photo from the shoot, and put it on canvas with this FREE CANVAS offer!  The picture will be a fab-u-lous piece of art in your home.  I’m soo getting mine and I’m super excited about it!  I will always look at that photo and smile when I remember the great date night I had with my family.
In case you don’t have a camera, perhaps you could borrow one or even put it on your Christmas list! ;)  You never know, maybe you are on Santa’s “Nice” list this year!  {WINK!}  There is always the option of having a professional take those photos for you too.  If you happen to live in Northern Utah I know a great photographer! You might even know her, my fellow diva, Bridget!  She would love to take those priceless photos for you. Check out her blog here, you’ll be glad you did!

You’ll never regret having too many pictures of your family, but you might regret having too little. So STOP waiting for that perfect moment to pass you by.  Kids grow up too fast.  Find some time to create precious pictures that you’ll have forever.

LOVE this idea! I completely agree that you will not regret having too many photos of your family but you will of not having enough. Especially these days when it is so easy to take digital photos and costs next to nothing {once the original investment of camera is made} to have lots of photos. People always complain about having their photos taken, but then they always appreciate it later. Anyway – I think this is a great idea!

This is a great idea! I love these kinds of photos so much more than posed, in a studio somewhere. Somehow, when you’re having fun, it just comes through so much more. In fact, next family home evening, now that it’s started to thaw (Brrrr!) there’s an amazing orchard a few blocks down the street from my house, and it would be awesome to take some pictures there. Now that I have an activity, I just need an fhe lesson, and some refreshments. Thank you so much for this great idea!
