4th of July:

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. It is awesome to get together for barbeques, parades, picnics, and fireworks. I enjoy hanging out with family and friends. The whole thing is lots of fun and very exciting. Getting dressed for the big day, is just one more thing that I get excited for. But the real reason that we celebrate isn’t for those reasons.

It is for the Freedom that our country stands for. As I sit here and think about my freedom, I have so much to be thankful for. I am able to own a home, go to whatever work I choose, have kids, marry whom I would like, and vote.. This is something to think about on all levels though. We can leave our house whenever we want, believe in what we want to believe, and hang out with whoever we want. I know this isn’t even touching the beginning of it all.

This country is great, and I love seeing everyone support our country during this one-of-a-kind holiday. Remembering the soldiers who have given their time and sometimes even lives to keep this country free means a lot. I know that I have a lot to be thankful for, and today I will make sure that I cherish the time I get to spend with my family and friends. We are so lucky!!

I will leave it in the words of Toby Keith who says it all perfectly:

I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the U.S.A.

Have a fantastic 4th of July!!

Be proud to be an American and celebrate the freedom that we all have.
