Sunrise and Sunset

by

My husband and I have witnessed many sunrises together in our day but NONE on purpose! Most, that I recall, were due to a hungry baby or a successful attempt to hit the gym before work.  But if you take a moment to really watch the sunrise, you’d see just how beautiful it is and how romantic it can be as it warms you from the inside out.  Because of that, I decided it was NECESSARY that my husband and I took a morning to take in a sunrise in each other’s arms.

We have a park within walking distance. So on a Saturday morning, I set my alarm quietly, (without him knowing) woke him up and told him to get dressed!  I grabbed a pre-packed bag, filled with a blanket and a thermos of coffee {or hot cocoa}!  We walked hand-in-hand to the park, laid the blanket on the ground and snuggled up to witness a beautiful sunrise.

That evening, I grabbed the same bag (this time with hot cocoa in the thermos), his hand and we walked back to the park to watch the sunset.   There is a lake at the park and we found a nearby park bench to cozy up on. The sunset behind us, reflecting such beautiful light on the lake.  My husband and I were kindly reminded that it’s the simple things in life and the people you share them with that mean the most!   Our night was full of great conversation and we ended up staying way past sunset… oops! {haha}

Sunset at the Park

Sounds so simple… almost boring, but I PROMISE you, it was wonderful!  I plan to snatch my hubby’s hand more often for a sunset walk to the park!

If you are looking for more things to do in the sunset, Becca created a FABULOUS roof top date that will really knock your man’s socks off!

    On our first day of married life my husband and I watched both the sunrise and sunset in each others arms! Now with the chaos of two monkeys under two we never willingly get up before the sun but maybe some day soon :)
