50 Fun Daddy/Daughter AND Father/Son Date Ideas

Today’s your lucky day!  We’ve got another fabulous FREEBIE for you!  Use it as a super inexpensive & meaningful Father’s Day gift OR just start a new family tradition.

Because today we’re going to share…

Some of my most cherished childhood memories were daddy-daughter date nights.  I remember my dad let me pick the radio station as he drove, and he always opened the door for me.  I don’t remember everything we used to do together, but I always remember feeling special.

As a parent, it can be hard to balance your time with each child.  Especially with the business of work and other responsibilities.  But we’re learning that these moments we have now with our children are fleeting, and we have to make time to create the memories that we want them to remember the rest of their lives.   That’s why we decided to start a tradition in our family.

We call it…

“The Daddy Date Jar!”

It’s super easy.  We filled a mason jar with little strips of paper that had fun ideas on them.  And then on the first Saturday of every month, my husband takes one of our girls out on a “date”- just the two of them.

They LOVE when it’s finally their turn to pick a paper out of the jar!  It means they get dad all to themselves- no sharing with sisters OR mom. It always amazes me how even a simple and short 30 minute date with dad can make such a HUGE difference.  A cranky, unmanageable toddler comes back with a beaming smile and an angelic attitude.  (I’m hoping that if we start now and keep it up, it’ll work the same in the teenage years.)  *crossing fingers*

One of our talented designers, Leah Aldous, create the darling printables to make it super easy to do!

It would make a great, meaningful gift for Father’s Day!

All You Need Is:

2.  Put the slips of paper into your jar and tape or glue the “Daddy Date Jar” label around the jar.

Thank you for putting this together! My church ran this as a challenge to the Dads to see how many different things we could do with our daughters (and take a picture of each activity) between Valentine’s Day and June 1st. I posted my daughter’s and my photo compilation on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeKwiqpmWFI. We really enjoyed working through the different dates – thanks again :)
