One of the biggest roadblocks to date night is time and money. Today’s idea should help you with both. We have compiled 10 date nights, each only costing $2! I decided to wrap this up in a fun way and give to my husband for Father’s Day. Now whenever we have a little time and need a date night, we grab the idea wrapped in the $2 bills and head out for a night on the town.
Date Night Jar
This is SUPER easy to put together. All you need is to print the list of 10 Dates for $20 (total!) located at the bottom of this post, grab 20 1-dollar bills, a jar and some ribbon…
Finally, put all of the ideas and money together in a jar, tie a bow on top and Voila! TEN date ideas for only $20 total! And aren’t they all so cute sitting in there waiting for you to unwrap them?!
To give you a little sneak peek at what’s in this printable, here are two of our favorite ideas featured inside:
Grab a Redbox Movie and Enjoy a Movie Night In!
Don’t you just love how cheap RedBox movies are? And they’re SO convenient, too! I mean, they have one on practically every corner! If you happen to pick this date, you definitely need to check out our Romantic Redbox Date night printables, too. Just print these out with your home printer and spice up your $2 date even more! It seriously can’t get easier than this!
Our next favorite $2 date that’s included in this printable is…
Go To The Dollar Store and Surprise Each Other With a Present!
Who doesn’t LOVE the dollar store! So many amazing treasures that you can purchase guilt free! And while the Dollar Store might be a place you often go, we’re willing to bet you haven’t spent a date night there. And to help you have even MORE fun on this date, head over to our Dollar Store Date Night idea to print out some fun printables to bring along! You can step up your date night fun without dishing out any more money. Woo hoo!

Just emailed you. 🙂
Tress, just wanted to let you know that the PDF has been updated with blank strips!
Love this idea & the fun strips, would love to be able to have some blank we could add our own 🙂
Hi Tress! That is a great suggestion! I will contact the designer and see if we can get the printable updated. Thank you! XOXO
What an awesome idea! 😀 I’m so excited!
Great ideas! But do remember, bread is bad for ducks. ^^
This is such a great idea, I’m making more than 10 and I’m trying to think of more ideas, any suggestions? Thank you!
Love, Love, Love these ideas! I so miss living in a town with a Dollar theater…. makes me think of old times! 🙂
Adorable……We each plan 2 dates per month and I am always looking for fun things to do. Thanks :~)
Cute ideas…
But please don’t feed the ducks/geese with a loaf of bread. Bread is bad for them!! : (
If you want to feed the ducks, buy a bag of cracked corn from a pet or grocery store instead!!
These are so great. I have a bridal shower to go to next week and funds are tight, so this is perfect. I think I might change a few of them up and personalize them for the couple. I think I will also do this for my husband for new years and do 12 dates, one for each month.
I have a date jar as well, but it’s not nearly as cute as this one! I’d love for you to come share it with me on my “Fidlin’ Fridays” link party. I’m at https://www.fidlersunderoneroof.com/2013/05/link-party-1.html. Hope to see you there!
what great ideas! we live on a tight budget right now while i look for a job, so we’re always open to frugal date ideas!!
I swear I could live on this site!! You gals have the most amazing ideas. I’m sure my followers think you ladies pay me to send out your stuff all the time. I just LOVE it all!!
We love YOU, Fawn! Thanks a bunch!
Please do not feed ducks bread. It can cause botulism. Instead feed grated carrots.

Hi, Ladies!
I love this idea too! I used your list as a starting point & gave my husband 12 envelopes for the year. Each with a $2 date in it. 🙂 Hoping that we will both have fun with these!
I had another $2 idea to add… When seeds are on sale 10 for $1, go to the store and pick out seeds. Plan your garden together!
This can be a help for me, thanks!
Totally would LOVE to see that list!!! This is a fabulous idea!
Thanks so much for sharing this at The DIY Dreamer.. From Dream To Reality!

OK, I can’t resist… the second to the last on the printables: “Grab water guns at the dollar store and have a water fight!” So my wife and I did that… but we got kicked out for making a mess! 🙂 Oh, you meant buy the guns and have a water fight elsewhere? My bad… 🙂 Thanks for a great idea!
great idea, but need more healthy options than the bakery and fast food…hehe :))
I’m totally making this for my sister’s wedding gift!! Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Oooh! My hubby saw this and said he really liked the idea a lot and for me to save it! So I did! 🙂
Hi!
I love your dating ideas, I’m getting married July 21st and have saved a lot of them for us. This one is also a great idea – I’ll probably try and think up some more ideas because my honey doesn’t eat sweets (weird, I know!). I’m so thankful for this website you’ve put together, can’t wait to get started!
Jennifer 🙂
I love LOVE love the idea! and I nice pics 😉 😉
Aww! Great idea, and inexpensive too. We definitely need that…
I think this is a great idea. Not only is it important to be in a healthy, loving relationship but keeping it alive is work. This is creative, fun and personal. I love it!
Great idea Corie! SO cute and easy!
I think this is SO cute, Corie! Great job! It would be perfect for a bridal shower or as a wedding present as well! xoxo
thanks for fixing the list was able to get the pdf now. xx
Just click on the link that says, ” printable here” to see the list. I hope that works for you!
This is cute! I just wish there were more ideas that are stay at home friendly. I would have to pay a sitter for most of these. And that’s not cheap!
Hey Cali! You can still do this idea and just make up your own ideas that are at-home. 🙂 We just put the ideas out there and our readers can change them up any way they wish. Have fun!
Hi Cali! I just read through the list and there are several ideas that are home friendly. I have two young kids and love the Redbox movie idea, root beer float, stargazing on a blanket, eating ice cream sandwiches on the porch or roof. Some of the ideas you might be able to do ahead of time and enjoy with your spouse that night…like picking up two cookies at a bakery, grabbing the water guns from the Dollar Store. I hope that helps!
Hi! I LOVE this idea, but I can’t open up the link to see the list. Is there any way that you can email me the list?
aubreysorenson@yahoo.com
Ditto to Aime’s comment.
Hi there. Do you have the list of date ideas. In your blog where you say ” All you need is to print the list of 10 for $20 ideas printable here” takes you to a site where you can purchase a print machine. Was that the intention? Love the Idea would like to know what dates you go on for under $20
Hey i love the idea. Is there anyway we could get a list of the ideas? When I push the printable page it takes me to a letter press website. Thanks
Aimie
