That’s right, we’re going to hook you up with lots of romantic and fun date ideas for your next movie date night, and Chef in Training has created a yummy dessert to go along with your night. Read on, because you’ve got one spectacular (already planned) date night coming your way…

My Big Fat Greek Wedding Movie Night

This month it’s all about romance, a great love story, and laughs! You gotta love a good romantic comedy, right?!

The Movie

My Big Fat Greek Wedding – the romantic comedy classic starring the lovely and hilarious Nia Vardalos, and the hunky Michael Constantine.

The Invite

Print this invite {courtesy of our lovely Sarina} for your spouse to invite them to a private screening of My Big Fat Greek Wedding at Dancing Zorba’s restaurant! Create a pair of fake printable airline tickets to Greece, and pair them with the invite to add to your Greek themed romance (like we show you how to do in our Passport to Love post).

If you don’t have the movie, or don’t have time for a movie date night, you can print the more broad invitation to invite your hubby to a general Greek themed date night.

The Date

When date night rolls around, there are several options…

Limited Time AND No Sitter?

Just tuck your little ones in bed, pop in your movie, snuggle up, and enjoy your Greek dessert (courtesy of Chef in Training)!

Got Some Extra Time BUT No Sitter?

Here’s where all those romantic and fun date ideas come in! Choose one or all of these fun ideas to make Greece come alive for your spouse, and celebrate the movie.

  • This film is all about a love story, but you can’t forget the crazy family! Ha! Sit down with your hubby and look through photo albums of your family , immediate and extended. Laugh about their funny personality quirks, and remind yourself how much you love them in spite of all the craziness. There’s nothing like family!
  • In the film, Toula struggles to survive the chaos of wedding planning. Chat with your spouse about your wedding. Relive the funny moments, the meaningful moments, and share your favorite moments.

  • Play a drinking game! Toula’s father has an obsession with Windex in the film. It’s one of my favorite funny parts! Every time you see Toula’s father with a bottle of Windex, say “Opa!” and take a drink of your favorite soda or whatever you’re drinking.
  • Go on a virtual trip to Greece via your computer/travel agent! Travel all over Greece together while never leaving your home!
  • Tune into a Greek Radio station online while you eat.

Got Extra Time AND A Sitter?

Host a toga party just for you and your spouse! Check out this YouTube video on making a super easy toga, and pair it with a cute gold belt for added pizzazz.

The “After Movie” Party

“Toula, on my wedding night, my mother, she said to me, Greek women, we may be lambs in the kitchen, but we are tigers in the bedroom.”

This quote from the movie always cracks me up! You could leave it on a note for your hubby, and surprise him with a sexy animal print nightie for after the movie!

The Food

To get the “Dinner” portion of this Dinner and a Movie, head on over to Chef in Training right now! You’re gonna love it! She is hooking you up with a fabulous Greek dessert for FREE…
