High Energy Outdoor Couple Workout Ideas

First off, if you are in search of high intensity, active, and fun physical activities that you can do as a couple workout and also as a date, this category is perfect for you! However, keep in mind that you’ll need a lot of energy for these couple workout ideas. But don’t worry! They’re so much fun you won’t feel tired for a minute! And let’s be honest. Anything you do with your partner by your side is instantly made better, right? Try these high-intensity couple exercises and activities for your next date night or day date!

Couple Rock Climbing on an Adventurous Date

  • Rock Climbing – For the record, this is one of those adventurous dates you’ll quickly get obsessed with! Scale nature as you use every muscle in your body and see some amazing sights through rock climbing! Additionally, you can always check out your local community center, YMCA, or any local rock climbing groups for more information on great climbing sites or how to get started.
  • Snorkeling – Snorkeling can be a fun and romantic way to get in a couple workout! That is to say, you could experience a whole new world of underwater wildlife together! What could be better than that!
  • Tough Mudder – This multiple mile obstacle course will be a couple workout that will challenge you and your partner’s stamina, strength, confidence, and endurance. Remember, it’s not necessarily about winning the race, but rather how you finish it! In other words, this is a perfect bonding opportunity for the both of you!
  • Ice Skating – There is something so romantic about an outdoor skating rink, right? Probably because there’s one in almost every romantic holiday movie! If romance on your date is what you’re looking for, then consider ice skating where you create special memories of your own!
  • Tubing – Without a doubt, spending the afternoon on a lake with your sweetie being pulled behind a boat is one of the best kinds of adventurous dates! Additionally, all you need to make this date happen is access to a tube and a boat (and maybe some sunscreen!). Then, once you and your spouse get the hang of tubing, try water skiing or wakeboarding! Certainly, you’ll feel the burn in your arms and core the next day.
  • Paddle Boarding – The perfect couple workout for a day date at the lake, river or even ocean! Paddleboarding allows you and your spouse to have individual boards or join forces and be on one together. Not to mention, you’ll work your entire body with this one!
  • Partner Kayak – Relatively easy to pick-up, partner kayaking and canoeing are popular river and lake activities AND a perfect couple workout. For starters, rent a kayak for the afternoon. Then, enjoy time with your spouse as you get in a great arms workout.
  • Skiing – Whether a natural mountain or man-made resort, skiing is a popular winter date option, no matter the location. If skiing isn’t your thing, snowboarding, tubing, and hanging out at the lodge are all viable options too!
  • Biking – A great couple workout for both high-intensity workouts and low key afternoon rides. Talk to local biking enthusiasts for the best trails, what type of bike would best suit your needs, and the best times to purchase a bike.
  • Running – Even if it’s simply going around the neighborhood, a run with your spouse allows you time to bond and work towards a fitness goal together, like a local 5k or a full-on marathon! This is a couple workout that you can continue every week or even every night!

Outdoor Date Ideas That Are Low-Key

Do you love being active with your sweetie but want to slow things down for date night? These couple exercises that are low-key and outdoors should suit your needs perfectly! Enjoy a night OUT that’s centered around exercise and contains fun, physical activities as well! However, don’t worry about overexerting yourselves. These active date ideas are still outdoors and fun, but much more low-key! P.S. Exercise + Hanging Out = A workout without even knowing it! Talk about the ideal date night!

  • Hiking – Enjoy a casual (or advanced) hike date with your sweetheart! Chances are there are tons of hiking trails in your area. If you’re more daring, try an overnight hiking trip! Don’t forget to research your hike in advance through local nature conservatories and online information sites so you’re well prepared.
