Fireworks Belong in the Bedroom This 4th of July
Throughout the month of July, you’ll notice red, white, and blue everywhere! With that in mind, we decided it would be fun to create a bedroom game celebrating red, white, and the two of you!
This fun and FREE printable game is inspired by the children’s classic, Go Fish. The rules are nearly the same, but ours has a sexy twist!
Here are a few things you’ll need in order to play the game:
- a blindfold of some sort
- blue raspberry flavored hard candy (Jolly Ranchers, Blue Hard Candy, or Blue Razz Pop Rocks would be good for this one!)
- white whipped cream
- red licorice (Red Vines Ropes, classic Red Vines, or Twizzlers Twists will work best!)
Here are some optional items that may add to the fun:
- red, white, and blue glow sticks
- lingerie that looks like a starry night (you could also go with red, white, or blue lingerie!)

How to Play “Let’s Make Fireworks” on Independence Day
First, print the free printables located at the bottom of this post! Your printable pack includes:
- One page of 8 card backs
- One page of 8 white playing cards
- One page of 8 blue playing cards
- One page of 8 red playing cards
You will need to print TWO copies of the white, blue, and red cards and SIX copies of the card backs.
Each individual card will need a card back. That way, you can’t see what is on the other side of the card (just like a regular deck of cards!). You can either print the pages double-sided or adhere the card backs onto the playing cards before cutting them out. Whichever is easiest for you!
Now that you’ve set up your game; let’s teach you how to play!
How to play Let’s Make Fireworks:
This game is just like Go Fish. Each of you will hold eight cards in your hand, and the rest of the cards will go in a pile, face down. You’ll be aiming to make a match by asking each other if either of you has the card you’re looking for in your current hand.
For example:
Let’s say you currently have a white card that says, “Tell your spouse what you find most attractive about them.” You will ask your partner if they have this card. If they don’t, you won’t have a match, and you’ll need to draw a new card. If they do, then you’ll take the card from them, and you’ll have a match! Set the match aside and complete the task that is on the card.
You can only complete the tasks/prompts on each card if you get a match!
Each color of the cards is assigned a level of spiciness that will ignite the spark between you two, no matter what! So if you want a milder game, stick with just the white cards with a few blue cards sprinkled in. Keep in mind that this will shorten the game.
If you want a spicier game, use all of the cards! The red cards are the spiciest of all!
That’s it! It’s a pretty easy game, but we’re positive it’ll set off those fireworks right there in your bedroom! 😉
Happy Independence Day!
