The Major League Baseball World Series is coming up next week. If your man is a sports fanatic and loves baseball then he will be over-the-moon excited to go on this date with you! This date is super-simple to put together, you only have to do 4 things… think of it as having to run around the bases to get your home run! 🙂
1st Base:
Print off these sporty free printables that our talented Diva Stephanie created for you. Give him the invitation the day before so that he can brag to all his buddies about how he will be watching the World Series with his amazing wife the next day.
2nd Base:
Cut out the Baseball Trivia mitt and the ten trivia balls. Make a pocket out of the glove and put the trivia balls inside. When the commercials come on, take turns pulling out these skill-testing questions. You can make it even a little more fun by exchanging ‘rewards’ for correct answers… like a back or foot rub!
3rd Base:
Pick out a tasty game night snack that you know your husband will love. If you want to stick with the baseball theme, go for hotdogs, popcorn, peanuts, soda pop – pretty much anything full of fat, sugar, and salt. A special treat that I like to make for my husband is pizza on the grill. Just remember that when you are planning a date at home, you may have more ‘help’ than you need, so plan your menu accordingly. (As you can see I had a great little helper, note the chubby little fingers pawing for some pepperoni…)
Home Run:
Put your kids to bed, turn on the game, and cozy up on the couch. Here’s the key to this date being extra-successful… are you ready for it?? You need to sit and watch the game, the whole thing, if you don’t understand something, ask questions and let your husband impress you with his baseball knowledge.
Dugout Extras:
There are a ton of really cool baseball clips online that give you some fun background info. This one shows you how baseballs are made https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfPuRoStEdw and check this one out to learn about the special mud that is rubbed on every ball before the big game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-elLnUeF2ro&feature=related .
Hope you have a great time enjoying the game with your #1 Man!
Thank you for the awesome baseball game trivia’s. I will be heading up to Detroit this coming summer, these will come in hand!
Love this super cute creative date! Thanks, Julie!
What’s the program that you make all these cute printables in?! I wanna try some out myself 🙂
Honestly, I use Pages on my iMac to do most of my designs. It is easier than Photoshop and I love how Apple programs are user friendly. If you have ANY questions or details on how to start doing printables email me at stephanie@thedatingdivas.com THANKS
I LOVE this idea! Since we are born and raised in Metro Detroit and my husband is a HUGE Detroit Tigers fan, the World Series is a big deal at our house. We have been watching every game! He will be very touched to receive this invite and play the trivia!
Wow, that makes the games so much more exciting! I am sure the whole city is looking forward to the upcoming games!
I love this idea!!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks! Baseball is a pretty big deal around here:) Game One is set for this Wednesday, October 24. What team are you cheering for??
I am soooooo excited to do this. I can’t wait to have our date night on Wednesday. My husband coaches a travel baseball team and we actually have baseball practice Wednesday night before the game starts, so we’ll get a double dose of it. 🙂
How fun! You should take the questions to practice and see how many questions the players get right:)
Do you have a recipe or directions for the grilled pizza? Or do you just make the pizza like normal and throw on the grill?
My mother-in-law gave me a great cookbook last year for Christmas “Our Best Bites” and it has great directions on how to make grilled pizza. My tip is to roll the dough thin…you can check out their tutorial online here https://www.ourbestbites.com/2009/06/tutorial-bbq-grilled-pizza/ It is a fun meal to make together and is really tasty too!
This date turned out great! I love how you wrote it with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and home base 😉 so cute
I’m also having trouble bringing up the printables… Love the idea!!
try the printables again, they should work now.
My husband is TOTALLY in to baseball! Can’t wait for game 1 of the World Series now! Thanks for making something that would normally be “ordinary” into something fun!
Thanks! I am so glad that you like it;)
perfect… I was just looking for game day ideas. we love watching baseball together. We watch the world series together, each rooting for a different team… win gets to choose the bedroom activity for the post game activity.
That is such a great idea:) Nothing like a little competition!
I am having problem bringing up the printables? Anyone else having an issue? I have never had a problem before.
I just pulled them up on my iPad without a problem, maybe try it one more time.
try the printable again, it should work now, thanks 😉
