What guy doesn’t love it when his favorite girl clasps his arm and squeals out for his protection during frightful scenes in a scary movie? Why else do guys take girls to haunted houses this time of year? If you are looking for an extra thrill this Halloween season – this date night is terrifyingly quick, easy and will give you reason to sit close to your sweetie!
Here is what you do:
- Choose a scary movie
- Prepare your viewing device – laptop, iPad, or even your phone by charging the battery and downloading the movie or inserting the disk.
- Find the scariest location possible for viewing: abandoned warehouse, in the woods, in a car parked on an abandoned road etc.
- Bring blankets, pillows etc. to the location and cuddle up for some thrills, screams and a frightfully good time as you watch the movie.
Not a thrill seeker? Adapt this date for a new setting: find a beautiful overlook as you watch a romantic comedy or go to a high rise building as you watch an action flick. The possibilities are endless!

What did you watch and where?
This is how my man brought me on our first date! He wouldn’t tell me anything we were doing that night. First was bowling, great ice breaker since I’m terrible at it! Second was italian, I knew he liked me when I slurped my angel hair pasta and it flicked onto my face.. And the last, he had to tell me about. He had pillows and blankets in the back of his SUV and told me he didn’t want me thinking that he was kidnapping me. We went to an old farm to watch my favorite movie- Big Fish- on his tablet. He did this because I had mentioned how much I loved drive in movies when I was younger. It was too cold to lay our blankets and pillows on the top of his car, so we watched it inside. SUCH a great idea! We ended up doing this for multiple date nights, watching some netflix each time. Exactly like how y’all talked about it with the romance 🙂
Love it! Thanks for sharing!
I am going to modify this date night and we are going to watch the movie Elf at the Christmas lights parade in our home town. Just the right touch to get into the spirit of Christmas.
So fun! We actually have a date planned around that movie! I think it’s called “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” Check it out, it may give you more ideas. 😉
I absolutely LOVE this idea, but I don’t know if I’m brave enough even with my man…
