Turkey Hunt: A Thanksgiving Family Tradition!
Thanksgiving is one of our all-time favorite holidays! It doesn’t get much better than sweater weather, delicious food, and great company. Oh, and there will be pie. We can’t forget about all of the pie! Waiting for dinner is the only downside… Psst, today we’ve got a fun family activity to fill the time. Take the whole family out for a Turkey Hunt! This is sure to be a new Thanksgiving family tradition your kiddos will LOVE! Don’t worry, no turkeys were harmed in the writing of this post.
The Hunt is On!
We’ve created two different turkey hunts for your family! Send the kiddos out in search of turkeys or feathers. {OR do them both! Turkeys take a long time to cook!} Hide the turkeys or feathers around the house/yard. The first person to find all of the turkeys and mark them off on their game card wins a prize!
My little 3-year-old was super excited about the idea of tracking down turkeys. We did a little test run before Thanksgiving and he had a blast. I can only imagine how fun it will be with all of the cousins playing together.
Turkeys and Feathers
When playing the Turkey Feather Hunt, each person collects 7 different feathers for their turkey. Once each person finds all of their feathers, glue or tape them back onto the poor featherless turkey. {HINT – it might be a good idea to number the feathers so each person is only hunting for the feathers with their number on it.} When playing the Turkey Hunt the whole group is hunting for the same 8 turkeys. Once a player finds one they cross it off of their card. Once all of the feathers or turkeys have been hunted down there is a PRIZE!!
Printable Treat Boxes
Are you geeking out over this treat box like I am?? It even has a little pilgrim buckle on it… {Squeal!!} Print off a few of these so each little hunter can have their own. These boxes are a cinch to put together – as easy as pie! {YAY, Pie!} Just print on cardstock. Then cut, fold, glue, and fill with some of your favorite holiday candy.

Thank you so much for your kind words! XO
Well isn’t THIS just too cute for words! Love it!!!
Those treat boxes are SO darling!!
I would love to get a printable of the clues you used! I went to the other link you mentioned at the beginning and saw the clues for an “inside the house” hunt, but do you have any for outside the house? Thanks!
Hello Cami! The Thanksgiving Turkey Hunt/Feather Hunt can be done inside the house or out, but I think the Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt is only inside. https://www.thedatingdivas.com/category/holidays/thanksgiving/ . I think that is the other post you are referring to. It has a few different clues that you can read once you click on the download printable section. Both are a blast for young families! Have Fun!!
