DIY Valentine’s Day Countdown!
Here at The Dating Divas we are ALL about Valentine’s Day! I mean, a day dedicated to LOVE – what’s not to like? We believe that you should intentionally love your spouse every day, Valentine’s Day included! 😉 And with LOVE Day not too far away- we wanted to share a super fun {and yummy}…
{You can totally make your own fortune cookies, if you wish, but I’m all about quick and easy! I just picked up these babies at Walmart. You can even buy them on Amazon. NOTE: You’ll need 14 cookies, but you may break a couple of cookies while replacing the fortunes so make sure you get extra.}
2. Unwrap a cookie and wrap it with a slightly dampened paper towel. Microwave on high for 20 to 30 seconds.
{The time may vary depending on your microwave. The cookie is ready when it has softened enough to open without breaking.}
3. Quickly remove the cookie from the microwave and gently pull it open. Remove the fortune and replace it with one of our printable Valentine fortunes.
{You will have to work quickly. After about 20 seconds the cookie will start to harden again.}
4. Gently fold the cookie back into its original shape.
{Hold it in place until it harden again- it shouldn’t take longer than 30 seconds.}
5. Repeat 13 more times!
{Side note- the first time, I completely hid the printable fortune inside the cookie. But afterward I decided that I liked the look of the little hearts sticking out of the cookies. Totally up to you.}
6. Dip your fortune cookies into melted chocolate and add sprinkles.
{You’ll want to set them on wax paper until they’re completely dry.}
7. Place each fortune cookie into a mini baking cup.
{This step is optional, but I think it adds to the presentation. And aren’t these Valentine’s Mini Baking Cups so festive and fun?}
8. Put your fortune cookies inside a small box lined with tissue paper.
{You could use any box – even a small, wrapped shoe box. I found this box that was the perfect size in the wedding and cake aisle at Walmart.}
9. Add our printable label to the top of your box.
{And slap on a quick bow if you want, too.} 😉
10. Print the coordinating card.
{Make sure you include the card with your gift box…}
{Because the inside has a cute little poem that explains what it’s all about.}
That’s It!
Pretty simple, right? Go spread some love this Valentine’s Day!
It’s really fun to get a fortune cookie cracked before you get a snack. Thanks for the instructions and I will definitely make this!
I love this! Thanks for printing the instructions on how to make the cookies soft enough to “unfold”.
