Make your own Caramel Apples

Whether you are hosting lots of guests, or just enjoying husband and wife time together, make your caramel apple party a success with an easy caramel apple bar! Use our printable topping labels to mark what types of yummy goodies you’ve provided for your caramel apples. Glue or tape a popsicle stick to the back of these cuties, with a little bit sticking above AND below the printable. Plop the stick into your bowl of toppings and you’re ready for dipping! We left some of the labels blank if you want to try some other topping combinations. Making your own caramel apples has never been cuter!

My FAVORITE apple combo is caramel with white chocolate and cinnamon sugar. It’s like an apple pie! My hubby prefers caramel with milk chocolate and toffee. The possibilities are ENDLESS here with so many different caramel apples to choose from!

How Do You Like Them Apples?

Caramel Apple Themed Party Game

While you wait for the caramel and chocolatey goodness on your apples to cool and harden, we’ve created printables for a fabulous party game! Who’s played Apples to Apples before? This is the same game, only a DIY version to make it more personalized to your group specifically (which means more HILARIOUS)!

DIY Apples 2 Apples Game

Fun Game For A Group Date

Rules & Set Up

  • Print the “How Do You Like Them Apples” game mat.
  • Print one page of game cards for each player (4 or more players).
  • GREEN CARDS – Have each player cut out the GREEN cards on their sheet and write NOUNS in the white space. Persons, places, & things. Note: Here’s where you can have some fun. Encourage your group to think about connections they might have with one another (i.e. people in the room, a favorite blankie of a child’s, an ex-boyfriend that everybody laughs about now, etc). We used phrases like “Uncle Ryan’s muscles” or “Hannah’s binky.” This makes for some potentially hilarious rounds in the game
  • RED CARDS – Have each player cut out the RED cards on their sheet and fill in DESCRIPTION words. (i.e. stinky, bumpy, pungent, etc).
  • Everyone in the group should put all of their green cards together in one communal pile, and the red cards in another pile. Mix them all up!

How To Play

  1. To start the game, each player should choose 5 GREEN cards from the noun pile. Don’t let anyone see your cards.
  2. For each round, select a “judge.” This person will draw a RED description card from the pile and place it face up in the center of the game mat. This judge will not play this round but will instead choose the winner!
  3. After seeing the RED description card the judge lays down, all other players will look at their GREEN noun cards and select the one that they think fits that description the best. Place that card face down near the judge. Note: Since this game is subjective, players should take into account who the judge is for that round and what he/she may choose.
  4. The judge will then read each GREEN noun card aloud, and place them on the game mat for all to see. No one in the group is allowed to tell which card is theirs yet! The judge will select the GREEN noun card that he/she feels best fits the RED description card.
  5. Whoever played the chosen card is the winner of the round. They collect the RED card and keep it near them. All of the other GREEN noun cards that were laid down should be discarded.
  6. For the next round, each player draws a new GREEN noun card to replace the one laid down. The judge for the next round is the person to the right.
  7. The game ends when everyone has been the judge OR you run out of GREEN noun cards (whichever you prefer). The winner is the one who has collected the most RED description cards at the end!

This DIY version of Apples to Apples was inspired by the Thriving Home blog. You can check out her post to see how they played!

How Do You Like Them Apples?

DIY Apples 2 Apples Game for TWO

Caramel apple party game idea.

Rules & Set Up

  • Print the “How Do You Like Them Apples” game mat.
  • Print 2 pages of game cards for each player (you and your spouse).
  • GREEN CARDS – Each of you cut out the GREEN cards on your sheets and write NOUNS (persons, places, & things) in the white space.  Note: Here’s where you can have some fun. Encourage your spouse to think about connections or memories you have (i.e. a funny coworker, a favorite place you’ve been together, a favorite body part of your spouse, etc). Example: “Sarah’s lips,” “John’s old sweatpants,” or “Our Wedding Day.” This will make things really funny and get you talking about your memories and relationship.
  • RED CARDS – Each of you cut out the RED cards on your sheet and fill in DESCRIPTION words (i.e. stinky, bumpy, pungent, etc).
  • Put all of their GREEN cards together in one communal pile, and the RED cards in another pile. Mix them all up!

How To Play

  1. To start the game, both of you should choose 5 GREEN cards from the noun pile. Don’t let your spouse see your cards!
  2. For each round, take turns being the “judge.” This person will draw a RED description card from the pile and place it face up in the center of the game mat. This judge will not play this round but will instead choose the winning card.
  3. The spouse playing chooses 2 GREEN noun cards from his or her hand. That spouse also draws 2 GREEN noun cards from the deck randomly and shuffles them with the two chosen cards.
  4. The 4 shuffled GREEN cards are given to the judge, who lays them on the game mat, and then selects the best one. If the GREEN card selected is one of the cards from the other spouse, that player gets to keep the card. If not, discard it. The player should refill their hand with 2 new cards.
  5. Play until all of the GREEN cards are gone. Whomever has the most RED cards at the end, WINS! Shuffle and play again if you’re up for it!

This game will have you in stitches! It’s even funnier than traditional Apples to Apples with the personalized touch. So let’s get this caramel apple party started, shall we?
