Fun Fondue Date Night Idea

It’s Friday afternoon, you’re in line at the grocery store, and you realize you’ve got NOTHING planned for date night! Before you write off yet another weekend of alone time with your sweetheart, we partnered up with Texture to bring you this EASY {and delicious} date idea you just can’t pass up!

Fondue Date Idea

Some of my favorite recipes I’ve ever tried are from pages I’ve ripped out of magazines. You know, you see those gorgeous pictures and think I HAVE TO HAVE THAT!!! There’s just something about the pictures in food magazines that not only make me instantly hungry but make me think for some reason I can ACTUALLY make the food look that good {yea right!}. But despite many failed attempts, I’m ALWAYS looking through magazines for yummy new recipes to try.

Texture is a mobile app that brings the joy of magazine perusing RIGHT to your finger tips! As busy moms and wives, if it’s more than your wallet, keys and phone, it’s going to get left behind as we rush out the door. With Texture, virtually any magazine you could want is available right there from your phone or tablet!

Something else I LOVE about Texture is that you can also create a completely personalized magazine reading experience! Using their “collections” option, when I find something I absolutely LOVE, I simply add it to one of my customized collections and it’s saved there for good! Or if I am reading an article and don’t have time to finish, I can add it to a “read later” collection and it’s saved for when I have more time. So while standing in line at the grocery store scrolling through Parents magazine on my phone {have you guys seen their AH-dorable kids craft ideas??! SO genius!}, these fabulous pictures of an easy DIY Fondue party for kiddos popped up and I thought, hmmmm Fondue???

Of course the kiddos would love a little fondue party, but what’s more romantic than fondue with your sweetheart??! And just like that, I had my date night in the bag! I saved the recipe to my “Recipe” collection and once I got home I got to work putting our date night together. {And the kiddos enjoyed leftovers in the morning. WINK!} All you need to make your own fondue set up is find a delicious DIY recipe of your own, use muffin tins {mine is ceramic} to hold all of your favorite dipping treats, grab some toothpicks, and that’s it!

And after I got everything put together, I was actually able to relax and scroll through some of my favorite magazine’s latest issues!

I am a busy wife and Mother to three beautiful children! I was raised in California but I now call Texas home, and I love being with my family more than anything in the world! I have LOTS of different interests and love learning new things. Photography and being a wife/mommy are what make me the happiest, but water skiing on a hot summer day isn't a bad second choice!
