St. Patrick’s Day “Lucky in Love” Card
Ever since I was a child, I have loved St. Patrick’s Day. I don’t know if it is the thought of gold at the end of a rainbow, or the fact that I get to pinch someone if they aren’t wearing green – LOL – I just think it is fun! I thought that I might do something a little extra for my cute hubby.
I wanted to give my hubby a cute card that let him know I was thinking of him on this holiday, and a little something ‘extra’ for him to look forward to at the end of the night {WINK}.
I first have to give a HUGE shout out to the talented Tasha of Whimsicle Design Studio. She designed these AH-MA-ZINGLY GORGEOUS printables for this post. I am TOTALLY in LOVE with them!!!
Lucky In Love Card Materials:
- Printables {download at bottom of post}
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- Optional: special item to go in your card box
First, you need to print off the printables. Make sure to follow the directions on top of the first page closely, as this will determine how your card turns out :).
*** NOTE: you need to make sure when you print page 2, that it lines up so the words will be on the back of page 1, with the wording the right direction.
Next, once you have everything printed, cut out your card and fold in half.
Now you want to cut out the two cards that will be glued to the card. MAKE SURE YOU DON’T CUT OFF THE TABS! {WINK}
Next you need to fold the tabs along the dotted lines. Glue or tape tabs to the spaces indicated on the card. You have to glue the Ace card first, as the first tab on the “Lucky in Love” card gets glued to the TOP of the Ace card. The last tab gets glued to the main card where it says tab 4. Now your card is done :).
Now move on to your box. Cut it out and fold on all the dotted lines. Glue side tabs together. Now you are ready to fill it with what you choose.
The box is your ‘wild’ card. You can get actual playing cards and add them to your box to play some card games with your hubby later that night, OR you can put a little ‘extra’ inside of it for later. {WINK}
I decided to put a few ‘intimate’ items inside the box and my hubby LOVED it. If you choose to go this route you can get super creative with how you use the box. You might just be able to fit a cute pair of panties if you fold them right {WINK}!
However you choose to use the items, your spouse will have no doubt that you are thinking about them and love them. This was a ton of fun for me to put together. I gave it to my hubby a little earlier than St. Patrick’s Day and it was a HUGE hit!
If you want some extra ideas, pair this with this list of why you are lucky to be in love with your spouse, or send him/her on a special scavenger hunt.
I love this idea, but I must be clueless as to how to print the 2nd page so that the inside message ends up on the right side of the inside of the card. Either I get the message printing on the back of the cover or the message is printing upside down. It seems that the 2nd page should have the inside message on the right side of the paper. What am I missing? Thank you! I can hardly wait to get this right!
I absolutely LOVE this 3D card! It turned out SO stinkin’ DARLING! Fabulous job!!
I think the box in this card is just genius!!! I’m pondering what to put into my box! This might even be fun to leave around at random times up to St. Patrick’s instead of a leprechaun. Thanks for sharing this so I could steal it!l! xox
