Why is it that some of the simplest pleasures in life happen when you’re a kid and you don’t appreciate them? Building an epic fort, having a Nerf gun battle, putting the sprinkler under the trampoline, and, of course, coloring! Coloring pages for adults have gotten huge over the last few years (which is why we’re seeing adult coloring books all over), and for good reason. Coloring is fun and relaxing and gives your brain something to do other than scrolling on your phone for hours. Some coloring books for adults are even marketed specifically for reducing anxiety!

We didn’t want to miss out on any of the adult coloring fun, so we came up with a date idea all about that simple childhood pleasure… coloring! After you have your coloring pages and something to color with (We personally prefer twistable crayons or colored pencils, but dual tip brush pens can create some really awesome art!), get yourselves cozy with a movie and some snacks or take-out.

You can color your pictures while you watch a show, chat (our Question Game for Couples could be a perfect addition to this date night!), or make it a competition! You can set a timer to see who can finish their picture first, or post your finished products to social media and have your friends and family vote on the best one. Winner gets to choose the next date night!
