The Ultimate Trunk or Treat Guide
Ready for Halloween? Not ready to roam the neighborhoods all night long with the kiddos? Trunk or Treat is the answer. If you’ve ever been interested in hosting but intimidated about starting, look no further. We’ll guide you through hosting your own Trunk or Treat in just a few easy steps!
How adorably spooky are these printables that Leslie from Nina Bean Designs helped us create? We went with a fun road sign theme to remind everyone that a Trunk or Treat just isn’t complete without all the cars!
Step One: Announce the Fun
Print the flyers and fill in the date, time and place to let everyone know the details of your Trunk or Treat event. Pass out the information or hang them up around town, schools or churches – wherever your community or neighborhood is going to see them! {Make sure you use this paper cutter to help cut time!}
Step Two: Get Trunk Volunteers
Start calling in favors or recruiting close friends and family to decorate trunks and bring their own candy supplies. Give them a time to arrive – at least 30 minutes before trick-or-treaters!
It helps if you give them some easy suggestions for how to get their car ready. {Here’s a hint: check out our 120 Creative Trunk or Treat Ideas!)
You could also give them some ideas for Non-Candy Treats.
Step Three: Set Up YOUR Car
As the host, you’re going to want your trunk to make all the other trunks a little jealous – but let’s face it, you’re also not going to have much time on your hands. That’s where those printable car decorations come in! Creepy monster eyes and warning signs instantly jazz up your car!
Plus, everyone is going to ooooohhh and ahhhhh over your tail light jack-o’-lanterns!
Step Four: Pass Out Candy
Well, isn’t that just the BEST part?! Have your candy or treats ready for a slew of excited, costumed kiddos.
Wanna get your party started?
