50+ Games for 2 With a Deck of Cards!

Everybody LOVES a good card game… I especially love it with my hubby! {He may not like it as much because I always WIN!! But that is ok!}

Are you excited or what??? We have SO MANY fun ideas for you {plus the links to the directions to play…} you know, just in case!

****DIFFICULTY LEVELS OF GAMES****

#1-7 TOTALLY kid friendly!

#8-25 Need some previous card playing skills

#26-34 SOME should just be for adults, but teens could play too!

#35 is plain fun for the WHOLE FAMILY!

#36+ are not well known hand card games, may need to read and possibly re-read the directions before playing.

1. Slapjack – Slapjack, also known as Slaps, is a simple standard-deck card game, generally played among children. It can often be a child’s first introduction to playing cards. The game is also sometimes known as Heart Attack.

2.War – War is typically played by 2 people, because of its simplicity, children play it often. Playing to see which component has the highest card to win the “war” is as easy as it gets!

3. 52 Card Pickup – This is a children’s card game, using a standard deck of 52 playing cards, that is usually played as a practical joke by having them clean up all the cards out of the deck.

4. Crazy Eights – is a shedding-type card game for two to seven players. The object of the game is to be the first to get rid of all the player’s cards to a discard pile by matching the number or suit to the current card in the discard pile. Super fun for kids to!

5. Spoons – Don’t be left without a spoon! Arrange the spoons in a small circle in the center of the table and deal four cards to each player. Each player tries to make four of a kind.

6. Go Fish – Go Fish (or simply fish) is a simple card game. It is usually played by two to five players and can amuse the smallest of children!

7. GOLF {4 cards} - A fun card game for 2-6 players where you try to get your best (lowest) golf score over the course of nine deals. Testing your memory skills while playing with all cards face down!

8. GOLF {8 cards} – A card game for 2-6 players with 8 cards in play where you try to get your best (lowest) golf score over the course of nine deals. 

9. GOLF {9 cards} – A fun card game for 2-6 players where you try to get your best (lowest) golf score over the course of nine deals with 9 cards in play. 

10. GOLF {6 card} – A fun card game for 2-6 players where you try to get your best (lowest) golf score over the course of nine deals while playing with 6 cards. 

11. Egyptian Ratscrew – Extremely fast paced game for 2 or more players! Object is to take as many cards as possible for the win!

12. Spit – This wild and crazy game is all about speed and quickness. It helps develop counting and sequencing skills too. How fast are you?

13. Gin Rummy – This card game is a two-handed form of the card game rummy in which players are dealt ten cards each and attempt to produce a hand in which the point value of unmatched cards adds up to ten or less.

14. Double Solitaire – A fun game you usually play by yourself. BUT double up and add a fun twist! The object of the game is to use up all your cards by re-ordering the deck by suit and rank through a series of moves. {Also commonly known as Patience… since it CAN take a lot of time.} The perfect way to kill time!

15. Spider Solitaire – Most commonly known as a single player game, but can have a difficulty level that can stump two! See if you can win together and get all the cards put back in their deck!

16. Speed – Very similar to and sometimes known as Spit, test your skills to see who is the fastest when putting your cards in sequencing orders!

17. Black Jack – With the exception of poker this game is the most popular out there. Can be played with many players but works great with 2. Try your hand at 21!

18. Bull Shiz/Cheat/I Doubt It – These games are all very similar in many ways! Being very deceptive is important as you try to fib your way into winning! But be careful NOT to get caught!

19. Basic Poker – Strategy, fibbing and knowing how to put your “poker face” on is important when playing this popular game of cards. Invite over your friends, this will be a fun night!

20. 5 Card Draw – Similar to Poker with only one play. Play your luck!

21. Snap – Get ready for a fast and furious game! Snap is all about mental reaction time, and one of the few games in which luck plays no part at all.

22. Texas Hold’em – More betting and fibbing! Hold’em is the variation of poker most often played in casinos and in televised tournaments like the World Series of Poker.

23. 500Five Hundred is a trick-taking game that is an extension of Euchre with some ideas from Bridge. For two to six players it is most commonly played by four players in partnerships but is sometimes recommended as a good three player game.

24. Kings Corner – Kings in the Corner a snappy card game that feels like everybody’s playing a single solitaire — but there’s only one winner!

25. 3 Card Poker – A fun change to the popular game of Poker using only 3 cards. Learn a new easy way to play this crazy game!

26. Canasta – Using a combination of 3 card decks you want to meld cards and SCORE points to be the winner!

27. Hand & Foot - Hand and foot is a card game played between 2 and 6 players, keep in mind each you need one deck per player to play this game. Get rid of the cards in your hand and your foot (second hand) to win this fun game!

28. Santase/66/Schnapsen -This exciting game is a two player trick-taking game! Played with a reduced deck to hit a certain number of points! Will the winner be you?

29. Cribbage or Crib – Played with 2-6 people (not 5) and it may seem intimidating at first, the basic game is very easy to learn. If you have a cribbage board (or pen and paper) and a deck of cards, you’re ready!

30. 5 Card Cribbage – A similar version to regular played 6 card cribbage if you want a little twist on the normal game!

31. Pinochle – Known as an old persons game (but totally fun with the right crowd!) this game is all about strategy and smarts!  For 2-4 players and can last all night if you get addicted like me!

32. Strip PokerAdding a twist to the fun card game of Poker above can lead to some entertainment for the night! 

33. Marriage – Matching game played with 3 decks of cards. Using the Kings and Queens (marriages) you collect for lots of points to win!

34. Hola – Sounding hard to play this game is super fun and easy once you have read and played through once or twice. Best played with 4 players!

    I like to play cards game when I get bored or when I am with my cousin brothers and sisters.. Well most of we are playing rummy or 3 card poker.. but in now days you can play the same cards game on face book and there is no chance for cheating so in now days we like to play it online..
