- Buy several different gourmet chocolate bars and have a chocolate tasting complete with mats and score cards. Most hospitals have gift shops that sell chocolate!
- Have a taste testing date night with different brands of your favorite treat or dessert.
- Get a paint by numbers kit for adults on Amazon and have a paint and sip night with yummy drinks.
- If you’re watching a lot of movies you could plan themed date nights to visit different countries. For example, watch a movie that takes place in Italy and then eat Italian food. You could do the same for Mexican, Chinese, French, Thai food, etc. There are hundreds of possibilities with this one!
- Have a romantic picnic in your hospital room!
5 Simple or Little Prep Hospital Date Nights
I don’t know about you but I love it when date night is simple and requires little prep! That’s why the following date night ideas are perfect for hospital stays. They’re low-key, don’t need a lot of prep, and most importantly they’re FUN!
- Plan a relaxing date night. Bring a basket of “spa” items to the hospital room to give your spouse a hand and/or foot massage, do face masks together while you watch a movie, paint nails, brush hair, etc. You can also ditch the scratchy hospital robes and each wear your own comfy robe instead! - Bring sketchbooks and pencils and draw each other.
- Plan a YouTube date night.
- Make a couples bucket list together of all the things you want to do and see after you’re finally out of “hospital jail.”
- Have a journaling date night. Write down your favorite memories, the blessings you’ve witnessed during your hospital stay, things you’re grateful for, and more! You can even start this A Year Of Us journal during your stay, and continue filling it out once you’ve returned home.
