Anniversary: Intimate Moments

by

When that special day rolls around….on which you celebrate the years you have been together….you usually hope it’s special, romantic, and memorable, right?!?  Well, we have been around long enough to know that this special night usually ends up in THAT room….you know, the bedroom!!  {WINK}

Now, we aren’t going to give you any tips once you end up in that room (you can figure that out)….BUT we thought it would be fun to give you ideas leading up to the room and maybe even an idea or two to change things up.  :)  We always try to be extremely tasteful when it comes to this area of marriage, but if this makes you uncomfortable in any way, please skip this post and check back tomorrow for some GREAT ideas on how to celebrate special MILESTONE anniversaries!  :)

The LOVE Doctor

By: Cami

Anniversaries are supposed to be celebrated in fun, exciting, memorable ways – AND we always want to end the night in a special, intimate way, right?! Of course! I wanted to do something unusual, fun, and flirtatious while also being creative with things we already had around the house.  So, what did I do? I found my kids’ play doctor kit and thought it would be fun to leave your spouse a teaser for what to look forward to at the end of the anniversary (for those of you without kids, a doctor kit is a toy that costs around $12 or less at Walmart or online).  I then wrote up a cute card that was my ‘teaser’.  Here is what my card says:

“I came down with “Joseph” (put your spouse’s name) fever last night.  Can you play “doctor” with me to help me get better?  You are just what my doctor prescribed!  Meet me in our bedroom tonight and I’ll be ready for my “check-up”.  Love ya and Happy Anniversary!”

Cute, huh?  Now, what you do is leave the kit, note, and play thermometer (from the kit) on your spouse’s pillow either before they leave work or have it there when they get home.  Either way, they received a cute, flirtatious teaser to set the right mood for the night!  Have so much fun playing this up and making your anniversary one to never forget!

Make The Night SPARK!

By: Lisa P.

Intimate moments can be fun and exciting. Try something a little different to make the night memorable. Go to the dollar store and pick up some glow sticks and pop rocks. Then bring them home, create a fun saying , and leave them out for your man when he comes home from work. It will bring out your sense of humor with each other and make you have fun with the night. You can even make jewelry for each other using the glow sticks. Who hasn’t wanted to try kissing with Pop Rocks? It is a lot of fun and makes for some good laughs.

Do Not Disturb!

Let your spouse know what you’re in the mood for tonight, by surprising them with this interchangeable Doorknob Hanger. Both designs are included on this FREE PRINTABLE.  (A huge thanks to Aileen with Lil’ Buckaroo Designs for designing this adorable download!)  The perfect “hint” to let your spouse know what you have in mind later on that night!  Leave it hanging on the bedroom door awaiting your lover’s arrival home or stick it in an envelope and give as a gift to use whenever.  This is a perfect surprise for any Anniversary and it has two sides depending on your “mood”. ;)

Setting The Mood

By: Lisa M.

Imagine that you just booked an amazing suite at the classiest place in town. Imagine how relaxing it feels when you shut the door behind you and unwind in an absolute environment of comfort. NOW…….imagine that suite is already paid for and just steps away in the comfort of your own home!  Change up your bedroom and create a intimate destination for your husband and you to enjoy.  Let the walls around you set the mood! Add a little paint, dimming lights, or change the entire feel of your bedroom altogether. Maybe you can put a mint on the pillows. Arrange ahead of time to have breakfast ready the next morning so the two of you can have breakfast in bed!  (Don’t forget to arrange an overnight play date for your kids!)  No matter what you decide to change that room, it will not disappoint! ;)

Bring ‘Em To His Knees

1) Show a little bit of skin…but hide most of it. This is definitely a tricky task when dressing seductively for our spouse. Dress in a way that will actual make you feel sexy, but will also accentuate certain feminine areas (think hour-glass figure). You can enhance these areas without actually showing any skin. Don’t forget a sexy pair of heels and accessorize your outfit in a way that will accompany what you are wearing.

2) Get your hair done. Two years ago I had an entire weekend planned for my anniversary. I went the extra mile and had a stylist fix my hair in an up-do before our date began. It felt like I was going to a high school dance all over again…but with the hottest guy imaginable. Also, it boosted my self confidence and made me feel sexy all day. It was well worth my $15. Oh, and by the way, up-do’s are very romantic and extremely sexy for your spouse because it reveals your gorgeous neck. It’s enticing.

3) Pheromones. How you smell is a powerful lure to your spouse. You look fantastic…and you smell scent-sational. There is one added trick that I have up my sleeve to reel my husband in on date night and it is called Pheromones. (You know, Pheromones is a chemical that our body naturally releases that affects the behavior of the opposite sex…hmmm…which is exactly why we should add a little more to make sure our men senses are aware of us ;) ) Now, there has been plenty of research on pheromone scents. I actually purchased a small bottle of pheromone oil and will apply it to my pulse points (neckline, wrists, behind the knees and behind the ears). That ought to kick your hubby’s senses into overdrive.

4) Flirt shamelessly with your main squeeze. Remember when you and your spouse first started dating? All that physical tension that built up between you came out in your flirting technique and style. Recreate those feelings of lust, shyness, and anticipation simply by using your feminine wiles of body language, eye contact, batting your lashes, a steamy glance in his direction, a seductive smile…all of these things register to him that you are attracted to him and you want to pursue a more intimate relationship…{wink, wink}

Bedroom Twister Fun

By: Corie

Your anniversary is the perfect stage to ignite fireworks in your marriage.  Why not play a good old fashion game of Twister… with a romantic twist?

I saw this great idea on: http://www.squidoo.com/funny-toy-pictures.  I think this is something that could be easily made with a white bed sheet and permanent markers!  This isn’t your Grandma’s version of Twister! :)

We hope you saw something in this post that you are excited to use during your next anniversary!  Don’t forget to think ahead about this special night….it will always be special because you will be with the person you love – BUT – it will be even MORE special and memorable if you actually plan ahead & try to figure out how to end your perfect night!  :)

    Haha…I have the Twister bedsheets. I found them on clearance years ago, just after I got married. I forgot all about them until we moved a month ago and I found them again. I knew I had to have them the second I saw them. :-)

    My husband and I are celebrating our 17th anniversary on June 2. We also have 8 children. It has been a rocky marriage, but we are trying to strengthen it. I am trying to put together some great ideas to make the whole week special, since we have not ever really had a special anniversary before. I am lucky if we celebrate it at all. So, if anyone has any really great ideas, I would appreciate them. I am planning on giving him something fun each day. I purchased 2 cards and will give him those at some point. I am going to write up some reasons that I love him and attach some goodies. I was also thinking of doing 17 balloons with pictures/memories attached to them. Our 2 night honeymoon in our local motel was memorable because the best man/maid of honor team filled the room with balloons and I was thrown from the door onto the bed as my husband tripped on balloons. So, I was thinking of doing something like that to our bedroom as well.

    So were did you get the pheromones oil?

    Hi Carly,

    I just called around to several different salons and found one that was doing a promotion. You can find coupons on groupon every now and then, or ask around from friends on your FB to see if they know of any stylists that work from home (a lot of times they are WAY cheaper than paying for an up-do in a salon.) Hope that helps!
